Summer Dump Part 1: Sketches

So I've been able to get a little bit of figure drawing
in this summer. Not nearly enough to be satisfied but enough
to keep me from getting all rusty and bad. Anyway, I've did
some pencil stuff which I haven't done almost ever with figure
drawing, so that was fun. Any why I've been trying to work on
line and stuff and I think maybe I'm making progress, all those
crayon drawing have paid off I think. Hope you like 'em.

Land Pictures

Some Landscapes one from last month and one from yesterday.

Crits or opinions would be more than appreciated.

This one looks a little more accurate as far as value and contrast go...

Portraits, More in the Works

Update, a little late...

I tend to procrastinate.

Some Flagg Originals

Hey,

So I've been going to the "Palette and Chisel Artists Academy" in Chicago to get some figure drawing done and I was looking at some of the things they have hanging on the walls. A lot of cool stuff. Particularly the Flagg originals they have hanging in one of the halls. Thought someone might get a kick out of seeing them. They're pretty cool.

Sorry about the glare on these I did my best to keep it to a minimum.

And some other drawing I thought was real cool. I don't who the artist is though.

Anyway. I was supposed to update today and technically this is an update. So I guess I didn't lie but I will be back in the next day or so to post some new stuff from my sketchbook and some new figure drawings.

If you get a chance pop over to Chicken Scratch and check it out. I just posted my gladiator entry and there is some other cool stuff there as well.

Peace.

FIgure's From Today (updated)

Hey,

I have been up the past couple nights painting my project for Cooper. I'm done. 12 paintings in about 48 hours left me pretty worn out and just wanting to draw. It also left me lacking several essential colors so today I drew with some crayon in Pratt's class. It was fun and then I threw some pastel over one of the drawings and I like what happened.

I went back and did a proper photo of this with adjustments to make it look better (more like the real thing) and so I thought I'd share the results.

Something's Better Than Nothing: A Resolution to Post More

New sketchy thing done for the Chicken Scratch blog. I haven't done anything with monsters in a while so this was a nice relapse into the sketches of the darker days of yore.

I am also working on eventually getting up the energy to scan some paintings I've done this semester. And maybe some of the crap from my sketch books. I really feel like I've done almost nothing this semester so far which is scary because it's almost over and I've probably just not done a lot of what I was supposed to do...

Anyway. Maybe I'll post some writing.
